ATI Solutions Sponsors Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Students of the Year

ATI Solutions is honored to provide assistance to members of our local community as well as organizations that benefit the world at large. As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the lives of others, ATI is sponsoring the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Students of the Year campaign to raise money and awareness for patients with blood cancers.

Proudly Supporting the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in the DC Metro Area

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is the world's largest voluntary health agency dedicated to curing leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and Hodgkin’s disease. The Student of the Year Campaign was developed as a way to foster students’ professional skills through fundraising for a young, local patient who has been diagnosed with a blood cancer. At the conclusion of the eight-week challenge, the candidate or team who raises the most money for LLS is named Student of the Year for their local chapter.

Students have the opportunity to benefit a good cause as well as learn valuable career skills, including:

  • Activism. As blood cancers are the most common form of cancer in children and teens, candidates can identify with the cause and connect with their peers to raise awareness.
  • Leadership. The program is aimed at highly-motivated teenagers who want to stand out as they prepare to head into college or their chosen careers. Participants have the opportunity to learn how to become adept communicators, work as part of a team, and apply scheduling and project management to keep all parts of their campaigns running smoothly.
  • Research. Participants will need to learn the facts about these diseases and examine past campaigns to create compelling arguments.
  • Finances. In addition to brainstorming ways to raise funds, students will be encouraged to create budgets for income and expenditures, estimate projected costs, and keep accurate records for their programs.
  • Marketing. Students will have to determine the most financially beneficial way to deliver their message, as well as build a campaign that will have a far-reaching impact on an audience.
